Women can make the difference

“The turnout and support of unmarried women and the rest of the Rising American Electorate–Latinas, African Americans and young voters–will determine future elections…”

What is Women Vote?

Since the beginning of party politics, people have been asking the question of how to encourage their voters to go to the polls. Every campaign tries it all – phone calls, mailings, and door knocking.  The goal is turn out for voters but the key question is what really works.  Statistically the numbers are frustrating – most of these efforts show little if no significant impact on turning out the vote.

When Women Vote Women Win!

Starting in 2008, new methods have been tried by a variety of academics. Additional research has been done by the leading organization for women’s political participation, Women’s Voices, Women’s Vote and particularly on the question of civic duty and its relationship to increased turnout. Page Gardner, the executive director states: “The turnout and support of unmarried women and the rest of the Rising American Electorate–Latinas, African Americans and young voters–will determine future elections…”

Let's Turn Out the Women

Using this research and targeted voter analysis, Arizona List is moving key districts in Arizona forward by a focused impact on women voters. The process is simple – a structured program that is completely focused on encouraging a great group of hesitant women voters, who we know from polls and research, support our critical values of strong education, a healthy economy for all, protected health care rights, defending our fragile environment, and equality for all. These voters need encouragement to head to the polls and Arizona List works with them directly to answer their questions and provide the information they need to be confident as they to head to the polls.

The Results

Last election cycle (2014) we turned out women voters who participated in this program 13% higher than voters who were not touched. That means for every ten voters, one more woman went to the polls and voted for a progressive slate of candidates – women and men - to help Arizona become a better state. Can you imagine the difference if we could do this program in more districts?
