Lori Shepherd is passionate about building a more just and resilient community through education and advocacy. As Executive Director for Tucson Jewish Museum & Holocaust Center, she is driven to ensure that every visitor to TJMHC walks away with not just a historical understanding of the Holocaust but that they also take with them a new or renewed awareness and appreciation for the Jewish history of Southern Arizona and for Judaism as a religion, a culture, and a people. She believes that we can use history to build a brighter future.
While the work of TJMHC keeps her very busy, Lori, who has a Master’s in Public Administration from The University of Texas in El Paso and has earned her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® and CFRE® Certificate, is honored to serve on the Arizona List Board of Directors. She previously served as Vice President and Membership Chair for Planned Giving Roundtable of Arizona and was a member of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Stanford Online High School.
Originally from Kentucky, Lori and her family have been in the Southwest for the last fourteen years and have grown to deeply love Tucson and Southern Arizona. When she is not working you will find her outside with her family, hiking or cycling around Southern Arizona’s many amazing trails.
