Arizona could be different.
Last week, in Nevada, the first-ever majority-women legislature in the country, passed legislation protecting abortion patients and providers from out-of-state prosecution. It also advanced a bill that would enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.
Last month Colorado Democrats, led by two women in the Senate and two in the House, passed a package of pro-choice bills, including an out-of-state protection law similar to Nevada’s.
And at the same time in New Mexico, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who spoke with us last year, signed a bill into law that prohibits any interference with an individual’s access not only to reproductive care — including abortion — but also to gender-affirming care.
We need these bills. And we need you to get us there. Help us move from defense to offense.
Put more progressive women in seats at the table and you will see better decisions get made.
