Running for Fountain Hills Mayor
Ginny chose Fountain Hills as her hometown in 1983. Born and raised in NY, she followed her parents, who had fallen in love with this desert community in the seventies. Her siblings relocated as well, creating a foundation that spans generations. Ginny’s family includes husband Jim, three sons, Jim’s son and daughter, spouses and nine grandchildren.
Ginny has a Math Degree from Tufts University, holding related positions here, in VT and NH. She was an AZ Senate staffer and Assistant Director at ADEQ. After retiring, she worked with the US Attorney’s Office as a neighborhood liaison. Ginny was selected one of the “48 Most Intriguing Women” of the decade, an Historical Society Centennial project. Inducted into the FH Hall of Fame, she participated in planning, on School Board, Arts Council and as Theater Board Treasurer, earning their 2009 Founders Award. Ginny was a Councilwoman for eight years, co-chairing the Centennial Committee and sitting on the MAG Domestic Violence Council. Elected Mayor in 2018, reelected in 2020 and 2022, Ginny was appointed to the League Executive Committee, serves on MAG Regional Council, a public safety subcommittee, GPEC Mayor/Supervisor group, and with regional and local groups in the course of her municipal responsibilities.
