Tamillia Valenzuela

Washington Elementary School Board

Tamillia is a wife and mother who has lived in Arizona for 12 years. She proudly identifies as part of the Black, Latino and LGBTQ communities and has worked with these and other underrepresented groups to find and use their voice. She is passionate about education and its ability to uplift individuals and neighborhoods. She was formerly an immigration program coordinator with a local non-profit and served as Diversity Chair for the Arizona Parent Teacher Association. She participated in the first All In Education LISTO leadership development training cohort. Tamillia believes that good school leaders demonstrate empathy, create and nurture inclusive environments and demonstrate a belief that all students can and will succeed!
