Councilmember Leslie McClendon was born and raised right in Yuma. She has been married to Bob McClendon Jr for 32 years and has raised four very talented children and is now getting to enjoy her eleven grandchildren.
Leslie is a proud graduate of Yuma High School and also attended Arizona Western College where she studied Business Management. She has been in the tourism business for over 35 years. She is currently the Group Sales Manager for Visit Yuma. It is easy to see that tourism in Yuma is very important to her.
Leslie previously served on the City Council for eight years (2008 -2015). She is a member of Fort Yuma Rotary Club and Arizona Business Women Association. She served several years on Amberly’s Place Board of Directors and the GYEDC Board of Directors. She has been active in youth organizations, sitting on boards or being a team mom.
In her spare time, Leslie loves to curl up on the coach and watch movies or read. Her true passion is scrapbooking because she enjoys reminiscing on memories. She loves Yuma because it’s a great place to live, to work and to raise a family.
