Kirsten Engel

LD10 Arizona Senate

Kirsten Engel was first elected in 2016 and is currently serving her second term in the Arizona House. She will run for Arizona’s Second Congressional District again in 2022. As a law professor and a mom, Kirsten ran for office to fight for public, career/technical, and higher education funding as well as to bring her expertise in environmental & administrative law to the legislature.  As a Representative, she has expanded her work to include a presence in the Criminal Justice Reform Committee as Ranking Democrat of the Judiciary Committee. Kirsten is also an advocate for clean air and water, for sustainable water use and for addressing climate change through the adoption of renewable and other clean energy alternatives to fossil fuels. She has too often witnessed the manner in which low income and communities of color are disproportionately exposed to environmental hazards and is dedicated to fighting for a clean and healthy environment for all persons.
