Women’s Equality Center

The Women’s Equality Center (WEC) is a non-profit organization that works to promote reproductive freedom and justice in Latin America. Established in 2016, the organization is based in Los Angeles, California, and has a strong focus on capacity-building grants and strategic communications.

One of the key ways in which the WEC supports reproductive rights in Latin America is through its capacity-building grants. These grants are designed to help organizations in the region develop the skills and resources they need to effectively advocate for reproductive rights. This includes providing training on how to develop and implement effective communication campaigns, as well as providing financial support for the development of new programs and initiatives.

In addition to its capacity-building work, the WEC also supports reproductive rights organizations in Latin America through its integrated policy and communications campaigns. These campaigns are designed to raise awareness about reproductive rights issues and to influence policy decisions at the national and regional level. The WEC works closely with its partners to develop messaging and communication strategies that are tailored to the specific political and cultural context of each country.

The WEC also has a rapid-response operation that helps organizations in Latin America respond quickly and effectively to emerging issues and political opportunities related to reproductive freedom and justice. This includes providing support for the development of communications strategies, as well as providing funding for grassroots mobilization and lobbying efforts.

The Women’s Equality Center is a vital organization that is making a real difference in the lives of women and girls in Latin America. By providing capacity-building grants, integrated policy and communications campaigns, and rapid-response operations, the WEC is helping to build a more equitable world where everyone has the freedom and autonomy to make choices about their bodies and their lives.
