2026 Spring Intern
Hello everyone! My name is Mare Lagnese (they/them). In past work settings, people have also called me Mare Lugini or just Lugini, a nickname tied to my Italian heritage. I’m originally from Oakdale, Long Island, New York, and my family and I moved to Arizona in 2012, though I hope to return to the East Coast someday.
I attended Arizona State University, where I earned my BA in Literature along with a certificate in LGBTQ+ Studies. I’m interested in going back to school to study law or politics—I’m still figuring out which path feels right—but I joined Arizona List to have my voice heard and to stand up for the rights everyone deserves. This program felt like the right fit for me.
I’m also hoping to expand my social circle, become more comfortable around groups, and grow from being a “mouse” into a lion.
Some fun facts about me: I’m a theater kid, I love Broadway musicals, and I deeply enjoy Italian food—breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert… you name it. Honestly, if you ever want me to do something or go somewhere, all you have to do is offer Italian food or cheesecake
