Ann Wallack

Ann Wallack and her husband, Rob Wallack, are owners of Runner’s Den, an athletic shoe store serving the Valley for over 30 years, and founders of Raceplace Events, an event management company that produces national and local events, including 11 Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure events.

Ann’s community involvement includes a 25-year history of volunteer work with the Fiesta Bowl, serving as Chair of Game Operations for both the Fiesta Bowl and the Insight Bowl, the Hole-in-One Tournament, and the Fiesta Bowl Ball. In 2002, she chaired the Fiesta Bowl Committee, which raised $4 million and hosted the BCS National Championship.

As a strong supporter of public education, Ann has served as a parent volunteer in her sons’ classrooms, as president of the local Association of Parents and Teachers at Cherokee Elementary, and as President of the Scottsdale Parent Council.

She is active in the Democratic Party and is currently Chair of the Maricopa County Democratic Party, and was a candidate for State Senate, District 11 in 2006 and 2008.

Ann and Rob have a son who graduated from the University of Michigan and another at Arizona State University. Born in Wisconsin and raised in Minnesota, Ann attended the University of Minnesota and then transferred to California State University, Long Beach. Her interests include running, hiking, skiing, reading, and playing the piano.
