Megan Schmitz

Running for Phoenix City Council District 4

Megan Schmitz is a lifelong advocate and results-driven leader running for Phoenix City Council to ensure every voice in our community is heard. She believes the best solutions are built together. Megan’s career in public service began right here in the community, serving on staff for the Phoenix City Council District 4 Office. This experience grounded her work in the foundational needs of neighborhoods, where she led policy initiatives on everything from planning and zoning to transportation, community health, and public safety.

After shifting to the business world, Megan has been an entrepreneur, strategy advisor, and Chief of Staff at a public company. She has spent years developing strong, inclusive coalitions, navigating complex ecosystems and finding real solutions. Beyond her professional experience, Megan loves taking an active role in her community. She serves on the boards of Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation and Phoenix Community Alliance. She previously served on the Phoenix Women’s Commission and the Arizona Arts Commission, and was the board chair of One n Ten, an organization dedicated to empowering LGBTQ+ youth.

With a people-first approach, Megan envisions a District 4 built on safe communities, a healthy economy, and a meaningful sense of belonging for all residents.
