Running for Creighton Elementary School Governing Board
Sophia Carrillo is a first-generation American, bilingual community leader, and proud mom of two school-aged children. Her campaign for the Creighton Elementary School District Governing Board is rooted in her lived experience as a public school parent and her belief that every decision must keep children and families at the center.
Sophia currently serves as Governing Board President for Creighton Elementary School District, where she has led with a focus on student outcomes, multilingual learners, transparent governance, and stronger trust between schools and families. She has also strengthened partnerships across the public, private, nonprofit, and business sectors to create more opportunities and resources for the children and families Creighton serves.
Professionally, Sophia works in policy, partnerships, and outreach across Arizona, connecting community, government, and local leaders around issues that impact children, education, and economic opportunity.
As a mother, board president, and advocate, Sophia brings lived experience, data-informed leadership, and a deep commitment to community-rooted systems change. She is running to continue building a district where every child can thrive and every family has a meaningful voice in shaping the future.
