Running for Avondale City Council
Maxine “Max” Elaine Peatross White was born in Northeast, Ohio and lived in Avondale since 2008. She’s a devoted wife and mother. Councilmember White has dedicated her life to community service as well as workplace wellness. She is a diplomatic public servant, an expert in budgeting, finance, and a certified human resources professional. Councilmember White serves on the Southwest Family Advocacy Center Friends Board, she is a charter member of the Valley of the Sun National Pan-Hellenic Council and the Arizona West Valley Alumnae Chapter – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Avondale City Council honors her leadership and appointed her to Avondale Audit Committee – Chair, Valley Metro Board of Directors, where she was appointed Vice Chair of the Board and Audit and Finance Subcommittee – Chair, and Maricopa Association of Governments – Transportation Policy Committee member. She serves on the League of Arizona Cities and Towns General Administration, Human Resources and; Elections as well as the Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Works policy committees. Councilmember White represents Avondale at the National League of Cities as Parliamentarian – National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy committee and on the Racial Equity And Leadership constituency group.
