Running for Flagstaff City Council

Khara House (she/her) is a Flagstaff City Councilmember and community leader committed to building a strong, connected, and responsive city. With a background in communications, behavioral health, and community engagement, Khara brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to public service. During her time on Council, she has focused on advancing attainable housing, strengthening community wellbeing, supporting mental health and recovery-informed systems, and increasing transparency and trust in local government. She is known for her ability to listen across perspectives, bring people together, and lead with clarity and compassion.

In addition to her role on Council, Khara serves as Associate Director for Recovery and Behavioral Health at C4 Innovations and is the founder of CASA Communications LLC. She is a 2025 Flinn-Brown Fellow and serves as a state-appointed commissioner for Arizona Governor’s Office of African American Affairs, along with her involvement and active membership on numerous other local, state, and national boards and commissions.

Grounded in the belief that leadership is an act of service, Khara is committed to ensuring Flagstaff remains a place where people can live, thrive, and belong.
