Kathryn Mikronis

Running for Marana Unified School District Governing Board

Ms. Kathryn Mikronis, a widowed mother of two children residing in Marana for the past 23 years.  Ms. Mikronis was recently selected to serve her community on the Marana USD Governing Board, as President for 2026 after serving as Vice President for 2025.   Ms. Mikronis also serves as the Vice President of the Black Alliance for the Arizona School Board Association.

Ms. Mikronis has fostered a strong relationship with the Marana Unified School District for 20 years, where both of her children have attended Marana Schools. She has been an active school volunteer within the district for 15 years, serving as a volunteer parent in the classroom, and an officer of the PTO board at Coyote Trail Elementary.  

Ms. Mikronis is currently employed as a Special Staff Assistant III to the Pima County Treasurer, Brian Johnson.  Ms. Mikronis is working to help the office maintain rigorous policies and procedures that insure transparency and are aligned with the needs of the various taxing jurisdictions. 

Ms. Mikronis has been an active community member in various other volunteer organizations, serving on the board of the Autism Society of Southern Arizona for 10 years, a board member for the local Rainbow Girls Assembly for 12+ years, a past Girl Scout leader for 10 years, a graduate of Partners in a Policymaking and Leadership, and two years of service on the Governor’s Council on Disabilities.
