Running for Deer Valley Governing Board
Although Julie is a retired public school educator, her support for progressive change in Arizona began in high school. Despite multiple attempts to join the male only Key Club, she was politely but directly turned down. Meanwhile, Julie celebrated the Roe decision in 1974 and was absolutely horrified when it was overturned in 2022. She has been a vocal supporter of increasing school funding every year, not just election years. As a parent now of 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren, 4 of them granddaughters, she cannot believe we are fighting for the return of the same rights her generation helped provide.
While Julie’s year career in public education informs the positions she is taking and the decisions she will make if elected school board member, the world her children and grandchildren will live in informs every voting decision she makes. Julie is running to ensure they will not live in a world with fewer rights and less safety.
