Running for LD21 House
Representative Consuelo Hernandez was born and raised in Southside of Tucson. She is a proud graduate from Sunnyside High School, earned her degree in Global Health from Arizona State University and went on to become the president of Sunnyside Union School District School Board and has dedicated her career to mentoring at-risk youth and fighting to improve her community. Consuelo earned a master’s in law with a concentration in economics at the University of Arizona as well as a certificate in education finance from George Washington University. Consuelo has dedicated her life to helping uplift her community. Since her first term in office, she has championed fully funding public education, voting rights, reproductive rights, and better job opportunities. She was recognized among the most successful legislators in the district, bringing 60 million in historic funding for homelessness, 7.5 million for OBGYN services, 8.6 million for I-19 and Ruby Road, and 2 million for Pima Community College. She is proud to have been recognized by the March of Dimes as legislator of the year for her work in maternal health and for bringing 7.5 million for OBGYN services for our community health centers. The Community Health Centers of Arizona recognized her as well as Legislator of the Year in her first year. She has proven to be someone that has proven to work on your behalf and fight for you and she hopes to earn your support to continue to help improve the lives of the people in our district.
