Ylenia Aguilar is a member of the Osborn School District Governing Board and currently serves as President of the Board. Ylenia works as the Education Organizer for English Learners for UnidosUS, the largest Latino Civil Rights organization in the nation. She is a working mother: a professional businesswoman who owns her own company and an active parent in the district who has developed relationships with both teachers and administrators in order to improve educational outcomes for all students at Osborn. In these dual roles, Ylenia knows and is passionate about equity in our public schools and works to ensure all students have access to an excellent education.
As Governing Board President, Ylenia is passionate about the physical and environmental safety of students in order to give them the resources to thrive within and after education. She brings her experience with Latino Civil rights to fight for equity for bicultrual and bilingual students in Osborn.
