Sarah Benatar currently serves as the Coconino County Treasurer. She was appointed to this office by the Board of Supervisors to fill out the term of the previously elected Treasurer and was elected in 2016. She has been an active member of the Flagstaff community serving in leadership of the Community Information and Referral Services and the Flagstaff Housing Authority Board. Sarah is currently Chair of the National Association of Hispanic County Officials, an association whose goal is to encourage Hispanic County Officials to participate in a united National effort, advocating for the communities they serve and strengthen our political effect.
Sarah believes the position of County Treasurer involves both fiduciary responsibilities and also the roles of community educator, legislative educator representing the interests of rural counties and as customer service advocate for taxpayers.
