Running for a 2nd term on the Fountain Hills Town Council, Peggy McMahon, is a dedicated public servant who enjoys serving on the council.
Peggy is proactive and believes in giving back to her community. She volunteers whenever possible for town events such as Teen Drug Free Volunteer Day, the Dark Sky Festival, and providing education and support for those with cognitive impairment and their caretakers. She also works with organizations in Maricopa County to address the homeless population.
Peggy serves on the Board of Directors for Valley Metro and East Valley Partnership organizations. She also serves on the Fountain Hills Pedestrian, Traffic and Safety Committee, as a Sector Chair for the FH Youth Protective Coalition, the Fountain Hills Dementia Friendly Town task force and spearheaded Fountain Hills becoming a recognized Dementia Friendly Town, and on the town’s CARES educational forum committee, providing information and education on the latest important topics affecting our communities.
Peggy is also a strong advocate for voter registration and having equal access to the polls and mail-in ballots. She also advocates for women’s rights and serves as Co-Chair of the Fountain Hills Liberal Ladies group, a non-political organization that provides educational programs and a forum for discussion to increase women’s awareness about their rights and current topics of interest.
She holds a Juris Doctor (not licensed) and is a proud graduate of the Fountain Hills Leadership Academy.
Being a council member and an active and dedicated public servant in Fountain Hills is very important to Peggy. She looks forward to contributing and serving Fountain Hills over the next five years.
