Kristine Pavlik is a longtime Flagstaff resident, engaged community member and dedicated public servant. She has devoted her adulthood to making our community a better place and she is proud of her reputation as someone who works for change and the wellbeing of everyone in our community. She is a passionate advocate for public education, robust social services, and child and family welfare. As a mom of students in the Flagstaff Unified School District, she is a vested interest in ensuring that FUSD schools offer an exemplary educational experience that allows all learners to reach their full potential. Public education is the base upon which we build our democracy, and it is more important than ever that FUSD governing board members believe in the right of every child to a fully funded, well supported, inclusive and accessible education. As a governing board member, she will listen, learn, and make decisions that consider the needs of all students while respecting educators and prioritizing our student’s rights to a safe and inclusive learning environment. She strongly believes in our students’ right to an accurate and truthful education that will prepare them to be members of our democracy and for future success. She embraces, recognizes, and celebrates diversity, and understands that educational equity relies on considering the unique histories, cultures and needs of everyone in our school community: students, parents, staff, leadership, and community stakeholders.
