Maricopa County CAWCD Board

Heather Macre came to Arizona in 2008, and immersed herself in both the local political scene and in conservation efforts. Heather was elected to the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. The CAWCD board oversees the operations of the Central Arizona Project, a 336-mile system of aqueducts, tunnels, pumping plans and pipelines that provides about 1.5 million acre-feet of Colorado River water per year to Pima, Pinal and Maricopa counties.

 

An attorney at the firm of Aiken Schenk, Heather is a rising legal star and very active in her community. She serves on the Arizona Democratic Party State Committee, the NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona Board of Directors, and as Professional Development Chair for Phoenix Suns Charities 88. In 2015 she was recognized as one of Phoenix Business Journal’s “Forty Under Forty.”

 

Heather earned her JD at the University of Florida. She lives in Phoenix with her husband and daughter.
