LD20 House
Betty Villegas is a third-generation and lifelong resident of Pima County. With 25 years of dedicated public service, she deeply understands her district’s needs and is committed to serving LD 20, Pima County, and Arizona. Betty’s experience in government and housing enables her to understand the structure of state government and work on equitable housing solutions for all. As a member of various boards and commissions focused on Southern Arizona’s well-being and culture, she understands the importance of community representation. During her tenure on the Pima County Board of Supervisors in April 2020, amidst the pandemic, she prioritized protecting employees and ensuring the Pima County public health department was well-funded and equipped to respond effectively. Upholding LGBTQ+ rights and advocating for women’s and transgender reproductive healthcare freedom are integral to her values. Betty is dedicated to advancing legislation safeguarding our water, air quality, and natural cultural resources and spaces. She will also work on ensuring public education is fully funded and safe and that school facilities are well-maintained promptly. Her approach centers on solution-based policies aimed at enhancing the lives of everyone in the community. Betty’s qualifications and experience make her ready to continue representing LD 20 effectively.
