Kristel Foster was first elected in 2012 and won re-election in 2016. She has a passion for quality education and is dedicated to the students in this community. She has fought for things like LGBTQIA+ rights within school institutions, comprehensive sex education, and increasing multicultural based curriculums. She continues to be a strong voice in the “Red for Ed” movement, advocating for increased funding in our education system
As an educator with more than 20 years of experience, including teaching in both Flowing Wells and Sunnyside Unified School Districts, Kristel has a passion for quality education, dedication to the students in this community and the leadership abilities necessary to lead TUSD through difficult times.
Kristel has Masters Degrees in Latin American Studies and Educational Leadership. She works as a Program Specialist in the Language Acquisition Department at Sunnyside.
