Flagstaff City Council – Flagstaff became Eva’s home in 2000. With an academic background in economics and marketing, she started her professional career first working for Southwest Windpower and later for Northern Arizona University. Currently, Eva coordinates university strategic planning and communications to Arizona Board of Regents and other key stakeholders and serves on the university Environmental Caucus and Coordinating Council for Campus Sustainability.
Eva has developed and implemented CCC2NAU–a joint admissions program with Coconino Community College- collaborating with cross-functional teams from both institutions. In addition to her master’s degree from the University of Economics in Slovakia, Eva completed leadership programs at Harvard University and Cornell University. Since 2007 she also operates a small professional services consulting company and occasionally works with clients from both public and private sectors.
Since 2008, Eva has been an active board member for Friends of Flagstaff’s Future–a multi-issue organization that advocates for a livable, social and environmentally just Flagstaff. Over the years she has also contributed to the goals of a number of commissions and committees, including Regional Plan Citizen Advisory Committee, Coconino Community College Citizen Review Panel, Citizen Review Commission for Flagstaff Regional 5-year and Long Range Transit Plan, and the Greater Flagstaff Economic Council.
Among Eva’s notable accomplishments was helping Flagstaff pass all five Mountain Line propositions that led to the public transit system receiving the 2013 Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award. Through her engagement with many organizations and individuals, Eva learned to appreciate the sense of community, belonging, and purpose that drive human fulfillment and well-being.
