Running for LD8 State Senate.
State Senator Lauren Kuby served two terms on the Tempe City Council, championing climate action, affordable housing, and social equity. She holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in Public History.
As an ASU Senior Global Futures Scientist, she has partnered with communities, nonprofits, and scholars to advance climate solutions, co-authored socioecological research, and managed the Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family. Her background in clean energy and climate justice shaped her statewide campaign for the Arizona Corporation Commission and continues to guide her public service.
Elected to the Arizona Senate in 2024, representing Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Phoenix, and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Kuby brings both scientific expertise and local governance experience to the Capitol. She serves on the Judiciary/Elections and Government committees (as ranking member) and as the Senate Democratic representative on the Arizona Water Infrastructure Finance Authority.
Named “Rookie of the Year” by Progress Arizona and an “A+ Environmental Champion” by the Sierra Club, Kuby is recognized as a tireless advocate for climate action, workers’ rights, and strong public education. She lives in Tempe with her husband, Mike, and cherishes time with her two grandchildren who inspire her work.
