Six Things You Can Do
Pick one action every week and make a difference:
1. Knock a few doors. We have canvasses almost every afternoon and weekend from now to Nov. 3rd. You get to talk to a voter who has their ballot. It is a critical moment. You can knock or if you cannot walk, we need drivers! That speeds up our ability to hit doors. Please contact us if you are able to help drive at a canvass.
2. Make a few calls. We have phone lists for you to call with simple scripts to help voters know what to do when they get their ballot. These voters appreciate hearing from you! If you are willing to call, contact us and we will get you a list.
3. Become the expert! Read our voter guide. Read other guides. Know your ballot so that you can help others and then make the offer to help. Offer to go over it at your neighborhood association meeting, your church or your book club. You can do it!
4. Show your friends your process. Be a first week voter! The ballots are mailed out two weeks from today. So the day you get yours, share! Post you voting and mailing it back on your social media. Model your plan to get advice from trusted sources. Wear your “I voted” sticker. Walk through the process so a friend who is nervous will see how easy – and important – it is!
5. Give a candidate an extra gift. Find one candidate that you are really excited about and give them a donation. Send a note of encouragement. This is crunch time and everyone is trying to figure out how they are going to pay for their campaign needs. If you can help more than one, help two or three. Every dollar helps!
6. Vote and make sure everyone you know votes. Check in on the college students in your life, your elderly neighbor, your busy toddler mom friend, and your cousin you’ve been meaning to call. Ask the question, offer help and share that it matters to you.
Bonus point: Take a minute and donate to Arizona List. Our staff and interns are spending all of their time out talking to voters instead of calling you to ask for money. We know that voters need the information right now and anything you give helps us get that accurate information into their hands.
