Running for Marana Unified School District Governing Board
Makyla is the mother of twin boys who grew up in the Marana Unified School District. She began her teaching career at Marana High School and, for the past 15 years, she has helped establish employee handbook policies while teaching mathematics at Pima Community College and has worked closely with the college’s governing board in that role.
Through these experiences, she has seen firsthand how governing board decisions affect the day-to-day experiences of students and educators in the classroom. As a member of the Marana Unified School District Governing Board, Makyla will use her experience to support educators as they provide high-quality learning opportunities that enrich the lives of students throughout the community.
