Running for LD21 State House
Consuelo Hernandez has spent her life doing exactly what Arizona List champions, rolling up her sleeves and doing the work to drive real change for Arizona’s women and families. From her earliest days growing up in South Tucson, Consuelo understood that women’s health and reproductive freedom were not abstract policy issues; they were life and death realities for the families around her. That conviction followed her to Arizona State University, where she earned a degree in Global Health, and has defined every step of her public service since.
As a first-term State Representative for LD-21, serving Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz counties, Consuelo delivered securing $6.7 million in her first year in office to preserve labor and delivery services in rural Arizona, ensuring that women across underserved communities have access to the maternal health care they deserve. Her work has earned her Legislator of the Year recognition from the March of Dimes, Community Health Centers, and Stand for Children.
A proud Sunnyside High School alumna and former president of the Sunnyside Union School District School Board, Consuelo has also championed affordable child care, housing, and union jobs issues her district is concerned about. Consuelo is proud to have previously earned the endorsement of Arizona List and hopes to earn your support once again.
