Running for LD20 House.
Betty Villegas is a third-generation Tucsonan and lifelong resident of Pima County who has devoted more than 25 years to public service. With a career rooted in managing affordable housing and community development, she served as Pima County’s Housing Director, where she advanced equitable and practical housing solutions for all residents.
Her service on the Pima County Board of Supervisors during the COVID-19 pandemic
revealed the deep health disparities facing Southern Arizona. That experience strengthened her resolve to improve coordination between local agencies, strengthen community partnerships, and expand access to essential health resources for all residents.
As State Representative for Legislative District 20, Betty works to improve public health, housing, education, and environmental sustainability. She is a strong supporter of public education and believes that every child deserves access to quality schools, teachers, and the resources needed to thrive. Betty also stands firmly for LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive healthcare freedom for women and transgender individuals, and she champions policies to protect Arizona’s air, water, and natural spaces.
Rooted in her lifelong connection to Tucson, Betty continues to craft solution-based policies that build healthier, stronger, and more equitable communities for all Arizonans.
