Patty Contreras

Running LD12 Senate.

Patty Contreras retired from the City of Phoenix after 31+ years of service in the Parks and Recreation and Human Services Departments primarily providing services, resources, and programs to seniors and people with disabilities. Issues important to her are fully funding public education, helping seniors and veterans, combating climate change, and protecting Arizona’s water supply. Patty is a native Arizonan. In 1910, her great-grandparents emigrated from Mexico and settled in Morenci where they worked in the mines and later moved to Somerton, Arizona. Her grandparents and parents were also seasonal farm workers. Patty has a Bachelor of Science from ASU and a Master of Administration from NAU. Representative Contreras serves on the Health & Human Services, Transportation & Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Energy, & Water Committees, and the Ethics Committee. She is the secretary of the LGBTQIA+ Legislative Caucus. Memberships include National Conference of State Legislators, National Hispanic Council of State Legislators (Vice-chair Human and Rights Task Force), National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, and Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting, and the Outdoors Hispanic Conservation Leadership Council.
