Junelle Cavero

Running for LD11 State House.

In April 2024, Rep. Junelle Cavero flew in to be appointed to represent Arizona’s Legislative District 11 and was the final vote to repeal the 1864 Arizona Territorial abortion ban. A national political consultant, public administrator, entrepreneur, and longtime Democratic advocate, Cavero brings over three decades of experience in government relations, nonprofit leadership, and business development. Motivated by her father — a Navy Vietnam veteran and union member — Cavero has dedicated her career to advancing equity, opportunity, and economic stability for working families. She currently serves on the House Commerce, Science and Technology, and International Trade Committees.

Before leading Emerge Arizona as Executive Director, Cavero founded the Arizona AANHPI Democratic Caucus, championed recognition for WWII Filipino American veterans, and contributed to creating HealtheVet (HeV) in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the world’s largest medical record system.

Now an executive at My Code Media, the nation’s largest multicultural digital media company,  Cavero continues to promote diversity and inclusion. She earned her bachelor’s degree from New York University and a Master’s in Public Administration from American University, with additional studies in Madrid and Cuba. She resides in South Phoenix with her daughters, furry family members, and tortoises.
