Dr. Laura Metcalfe

Dr. Laura Metcalfe is an educational leader known for her commitment to equity, innovation, and student-centered learning. With 30 years of service in Arizona public schools, she has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for diverse and historically underserved student populations.

Dr. Metcalfe holds a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from NAU and her professional experience spans multiple levels of public education, including service as a high school principal, school district administrator, and elected school board member. These roles have given her a comprehensive understanding of education from the classroom to governance and policy.

As a principal, Dr. Metcalfe has led school transformation efforts centered on academic rigor, relevance, and workforce-aligned learning. She is known for rebuilding school culture, strengthening instructional systems, and expanding career and technical education, postsecondary pathways, and community partnerships. Her leadership emphasizes aligning education with real-world applications so students graduate with both a diploma and a clear plan for their future.

As an elected school board member, Dr. Metcalfe contributed to district-level decision-making, policy development, and fiscal oversight, always advocating for student-focused solutions and community engagement.
