Running for Roosevelt School District Governing Board
Dr. Ashley Hodge, affectionately known as “Double Doc Hodge,” is a South Phoenix native and dedicated public servant committed to improving outcomes for children, families, and communities. A third-generation graduate of the Roosevelt School District, she now has the honor of serving and leading in the same community that raised her. Dr. Hodge earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from Arizona State University and later completed her second doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Dr. Hodge has served in board leadership for three of her four years, including the past two years as Board President. During her tenure, she helped lead difficult but necessary decisions to close the district’s structural deficit, align spending with enrollment-based revenue, and stabilize operations to reinvest in stronger, more sustainable programming for students. She continues to lead governance work centered on student outcomes and accountability.
In addition to her public service, Dr. Hodge serves as Vice Chair of the Arizona School Boards Association Insurance Trust (ASBAIT), supporting districts in providing health benefits to educators. She currently works as a general manager for an in-home care organization, where she is passionate about serving seniors and Veterans.
