Stephanie Parra

Phoenix Union High School District Board – Stephanie Parra is an educator committed to improving public schools in Arizona. She is a first generation American citizen, born and raised in Yuma, AZ and is a product of Arizona public schools. As one of the first in her family to attend college, Stephanie understands the power of a great education. Stephanie’s background in education includes a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Education in Higher and Post-secondary Education from Arizona State University.

Stephanie’s experience started as a child advocate, ensuring all children have a safe and secure home. She later became an instructor at Arizona State University and currently works for Teach For America’s Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation national team, in addition to co-teaching a course at Northern Arizona University on social entrepreneurship.

Stephanie is running for Phoenix Union High School District Governing Board in Ward 3. Currently, 53% of Arizona high school students do not graduate eligible to attend state universities; thus, one of her main goals as an elected board member will be to ensure all students graduating high school are both ready academically and socially for college, careers and life.
