Stephanie Parra is an experienced educator committed to improving public schools in Arizona. She is a first generation American citizen, born and raised in Yuma, and is a product of Arizona public schools. As one of the first in her family to attend college, Stephanie understands the power of a great education. Stephanie holds B.S. in Justice Studies and Psychology, and a M.S. in Higher and Post-secondary Education from Arizona State University.
Stephanie began her career as a child advocate, working to ensure that all children have a safe and secure home. She later became an instructor at Arizona State University, and currently works for Teach For America’s Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation national team, and co-teaches a Northern Arizona University course on social entrepreneurship.
Stephanie is running for Phoenix Union High School District Governing Board in Ward 3. Currently, 53% of Arizona high school students do not graduate eligible to attend state universities. One of her main goals as an elected board member will be to ensure all students graduating high school are academically and socially prepared for college, careers and a lifetime of success.
