A Tucson native, Representative Sally Ann Gonzales received her BA from Arizona State University and MA from the University of Arizona. She worked as a bilingual classroom teacher and was first elected to serve in the AZ State House of Representatives in 2010. She also serves on the Governor’s Commission on Violence Against Women. Sally was re-elected to the state legislature in 2012 by voters in the new LD3.
How Sally is helping Arizona
Sally Ann Gonzales was a primary sponsor in helping repeal the ignorant ban on ethnic studies. She was also the primary sponsor in fighting for public employees to form and join labor unions, participate in collective bargaining and having Arizona make all private prison records public to the same extent that is required of state prisons or jails.
