Joyce Jones-Ivey is a retired nurse who proudly served patients for 42 years. She is running for the Oro Valley Town Council to keep the town community oriented, fiscally sound, and environmentally and financially sustainable.
Joyce grew up in a family of nine siblings. Her parents taught her the importance of honesty, integrity, hard work, respect for others, and treating everyone with dignity. She has been married for 40 years to Jesse Ivey, a retired LAPD officer. Her 42 years as a nurse gave her the listening and collaboration skills she needs to represent the people of Oro Valley.
If elected to the Town Council Joyce will support a balanced budget, youth sport and family activities at Naranja Park, and wilderness arts. She will advocate for a moratorium on development and call for impact studies on current and future growth. She will also search for sustainable solutions for the Oro Valley Country Club.
