Hazel Chandler is a 40-year resident of Arizona, a grandmother and outspoken advocate for Arizona children. She is passionate about securing a safe future for generations to come, is a long time advocate for quality public education, social justice, and environmental sustainability.
Hazel holds degrees in childhood development, management, and public management, and spent decades working in the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. For eight years she served as the regional director of First Things First, a Phoenix-based nonprofit organization that advocates for quality early childhood education that sets up children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Hazel believes that climate change and our environment aren’t just issues: rather, they’re the entire context in which leaders must make policy decisions. Hazel wants politics to transcend partisanship and the control of special interests, and works hard to form partnerships across the political divide to create an economy that works for all Arizonans.
