Running for Scottsdale City Council.
Maryann McAllen is a proud 59-year resident of Scottsdale, where she has dedicated her youth and adulthood to building up her community. From an early age, her parents instilled in her the value of giving back, which inspired her decision to run for City Council. She has been married to her husband, Sam, for 31 years, and together they raised their four children in Scottsdale, actively supporting local schools, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, their church, National Charity League, Yes to Children, East Scottsdale Little League, Scottsdale Soccer, PTOs, and various Parks and Recreation activities.
Serving on the City Council feels like a natural progression for Maryann. She worked for the City of Scottsdale for 14 years in the Recreation and Human Services Department and has held numerous community leadership roles and nonprofit board positions. Most recently, she worked for Hospice of the Valley, managing the Midtown White Dove Thrift Store. Currently, she is a small business owner in Scottsdale. Maryann graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a certificate in nonprofit studies.
