Lizette Mier graduated from North High School in 2018. With deep roots in Phoenix Union, Maryvale has always been her home.
Lizette understands the challenges that Maryvale students and families face. She recognizes that the schools are underfunded, students are not reaching their full potential, families are struggling with a housing crisis, and the community faces heavy policing. As a student in the Phoenix Union High School District, she organized her peers to successfully prevent school closures and secured millions in additional funding for public education.
She believes in the potential of Maryvale students and is committed to ensuring their voices are heard and that the community receives the support it deserves.
