Lillian Acker

Fountain Hills Unified School Board

Lillian was born in Argentina and moved to Chicago in 1963. Lillian married Alan in 1973 and they have four children and three grandchildren. She was a classroom teacher for over 25 years in public schools in the Chicago area and in Columbus, Ohio, teaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Most of her career was at the high school level teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language. She was instrumental in forming the Central Ohio ESL Consortium with five other educators. She worked with the Ohio Department of Education regarding education requirements and testing and was the President of Ohio TESOL and chaired their State Conference for two years. Lillian also has been active with ORT, an organization that funds technical and vocational schools around the world. She moved to Fountain Hills nine years ago and helps her mother and aunt who are living here. Learning is and always has been a part of her life and she looks forward to working with the Fountain Hills School Board.
