Dr. Ashley Hodge was raised in South Phoenix, with her parents and two younger sisters and is a third generation graduate from Roosevelt Elementary School District. As a child, her parents impressed upon her the importance of education, hard work, and giving back to the community. After graduating from Ed & Verma Pastor Elementary School, Ashley enrolled in Cesar Chavez High School and served as Class President. This is where she began to develop her leadership skills. Dr. Hodge attended ASU receiving a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She continued her postsecondary journey, receiving her Master’s in Social Work and her Doctorate in Behavioral Health. She is currently employed at her alma mater, Cesar Chavez High School.
Ashley is running for Roosevelt School District Board because home is where the heart is and this is her home. She knows that our community and our students deserve equitable opportunities to be successful. The pandemic had a significant impact on education and we need to address the interrupted teaching and learning. Dr. Hodge is committed to advocating for an educational experience that addresses the whole student inclusive of social emotional learning, and physical & mental health into today’s academics.
