Carla Urquidi

Running for Creighton Elementary School Board.

Carla Urquidi is seeking a seat in the Creighton School Governing Board. Having been a resident, student and now a mother of the District, she has seen first hand how changes need to be made to better serve our students and our community.

Carla was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and immigrated to Arizona at the age of four. Her introduction to English was in kindergarten and grew up seeing her parents, who didn’t speak the language, do everything to ensure that their children’s education was priority. Her father, Raul Urquidi, a former member of the Creighton School Governing Board set the example of leadership and advocacy for children’s education when he ran for Creighton Governing Board with limited English and won. Now as a mother of a child with Disabilities, Carla has put to practice what she saw her parents do to advocate for her child within the district and ensure he obtains the education every child deserves.

Carla’s vision and goals are very straight forward and believes that it’s every child, all the time. She believes in partnership between schools and parents and with her knowledge and involvement she will ensure that this is the Boards priority moving forward.
