Running for Kyrene Elementary School Board.
A parent of two school-aged children, Amy Satre originally moved to the Phoenix area as a child and attended Arizona public schools. She has lived in the Kyrene School District for almost 20 years. She has a master’s in healthcare administration, and her background is in data analytics, project management, and consulting. She has been an active volunteer in the community for many years, primarily in classrooms. She volunteered for Junior Achievement in the early 2000s. After her children were born, she became an involved parent, volunteering for Art Masterpiece, book fairs, general classroom assistance, coaching soccer, field trips, and most recently, teaching cross stitch to middle schoolers. She was also a den leader for her son’s Boy Scout troop for three years and a Girl Scout volunteer for two years. Amy is public school proud! She believes hardworking teachers and support staff deserve our empathy and respect. We need to listen to their ideas and concerns. She believes every student deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, valued, respected, and can thrive and succeed. She is ready to advocate for social and emotional support services and to address any inequalities and barriers to learning. Kyrene students deserve to learn in an environment where they can be themselves and discover their creative and innovative interests. They need access to the latest technology and diverse classes that enrich their minds and hearts. Amy will do all she can to support our future creators and thinkers.
