Felecia Rotellini

2015

Felecia Rotellini grew up in the small town of Sheridan, Wyoming. A first generation college graduate, Felecia graduated with honors from Notre Dame Law School in 1986, before moving to Phoenix, Arizona.  For over 28 years, Felecia has made Arizona her home and has been practicing law in both the public and private sectors. She spent 13 years as a consumer protection and financial fraud prosecutor in the Civil and Criminal Divisions of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. A fierce financial watchdog, Felecia is best known for her work as the lead lawyer against Arthur Anderson regarding its audits of the Baptist Foundation of Arizona. The result: a global settlement of $217 million dollars for the victims. From 2006 to 2009, Felecia was the Superintendent of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions where she created a Mortgage Fraud Task Force and received the ”Excellence in Cooperative Law Enforcement” Award from the United States Attorney’s Office for “Operation Cash Back”  indicting 36 individuals involved in mortgage fraud. Protecting and serving the citizens of Arizona is Felecia’s life work and passion.

In 2010, as the Democratic candidate for Arizona Attorney General, she lost by a very narrow margin. In 2014, again as the Democratic nominee, she earned bi-partisan support, national recognition and numerous endorsements from the law enforcement, education and business communities – and enthusiastic support from all people across the state – yet she lost again due to an incredible onslaught of dark-money.  Since the election, Felecia is focusing on her legal career as the Director of Regulatory Compliance for Arizona based DriveTime Automotive Group, Inc. and on organizations and efforts to protect our most vulnerable and to eradicate injustice in our communities and our state.  We wish the election results had been otherwise but we are so proud of her strong and sterling candidacy. Arizona List is honored to have Felecia as our 2014 Phoenix Honoree!
